Day 1 – Colorado Springs, CO
Welcome to your Mighty Grand Canyon Tour! Today we begin to make our way to the west, stopping for lunch on our own amidst dozens of big-game trophies at Ole’s Big Game Steakhouse in Paxton, NE. Early this evening arrive in Colorado Springs and relax with your fellow travelers during Drury’s great “Kickback” – where complimentary food and drinks are available. (D)
Day 2 – Santa Fe Plaza / 66 Diner
Travel this morning to Santa Fe and spend some time exploring the unique Santa Fe Plaza at your leisure. You’ll also have the chance to visit the Loretto Chapel and see it’s “miraculous staircase.” Continue to Albuquerque, where we’ll be overnight and enjoy an evening meal together at the 1950’s-style 66 Diner! Day 3 – Petrified Forest National Park
Follow Route 66 this morning toward Arizona. Today we spend some time in Petrified Forest National Park and the Painted Desert Visitor Center. Covering over 200 square miles, Petrified Forest National Park features badlands, buttes, mesas, wildlife, wildflowers and is known for their fossils, especially fallen trees that lived long ago. Coming out of the park, we’ll first make a stop to “Take it Easy” at Standin’ on the Corner Park in nearby Winslow, AZ before arriving this evening for our two-night stay just outside the south entrance of Grand Canyon National Park and enjoy an evening meal together. Day 4 – Grand Canyon National Park
A full-day at the Grand Canyon awaits! As one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and a must-see location in one’s lifetime, the Grand Canyon is sure to overwhelm the senses through its immense size and grandeur. Our local, knowledgeable step-on guide will be with us the entire day, offering unique insight and history as well as taking us to the best photo spots at the best times. Also included today is the Grand Canyon IMAX and free time at your leisure in Grand Canyon Village. This evening, share thoughts and memories of your day over dinner together. (B, D)
Day 5 – Canyonlands by Night Jet Boat Trip / Moab, UT
Today travel through “Monument Valley” en route to Moab, UT. We’ll also get our first look at one of Utah’s renowned “arches” along the way. Then, a special evening is planned on our Canyonlands by Night Jet Boat Trip! A cowboy-style Dutch oven dinner precedes our evening boat ride on the Colorado River. The Canyonlands area is unlike any other in the world, making this boat ride one of the most outstanding events you’ll experience. (B, D)
Day 6 – Arches National Park / Denver, CO
Today features Arches National Park, home to a landscape and formations unlike any other in the world. Be amazed this morning as we discover some of the 2,000 natural stone arches and giant balanced rocks. This evening finds us in Westminster, CO – a suburb of Denver – where we’ll have the opportunity to relax and enjoy Drury’s “Kickback” – where complimentary food and drinks are available. (B, D)
Day 7 – Return Home
Spend one last day reminiscing with your newly made friends about your tour to the Mighty Grand Canyon! Say goodbye to your Moostash Joe Tour Director and Driver as you arrive back at your initial pick-up points. (B)
