May 6 – Pella Tulip Festival

Meet your Moostash Joe Tour Director and Driver this morning at one of our many convenient pick-up points as we make our way towards Pella, IA! You may think most Midwestern towns are pretty much the same, but wait until you see Pella! It’s a community of charm and character. Antiques, unusual imports and some of the most beautiful tulips in the world make visiting Pella almost like taking a quick trip to Holland! Enjoy the beauty and magic of spring during the annual Pella Tulip Festival. The tulips in Pella are intentionally planted to be at their absolute best during Tulip Time! Enjoy free time to wander Pella’s many unique shops and festival activities. We’ll sit down for an evening meal together at the Pella Opera House before making our way over to Iowa City/Coralville where we’ll be overnight. (D)

May 7 – Kalona, Iowa Amish Tour with Family-Style Feast / Return Home

Enjoy the morning drive over to Kalona, IA – one of the largest Amish settlements west of the Mississippi River. Here, we meet our local tour guide for a guided tour of the Kalona area, which includes two different demonstrations as well as a delicious home-cooked meal served “family-style” in a Conservative-Mennonite home. It’s also a great opportunity to learn about the customs and lifestyles of the various Amish and Mennonite groups in the Kalona area. Later today, say goodbye to your Moostash Joe Tour Director, Driver and newly made friends with many fond memories of Pella and Kalona as you arrive back at your initial pick-up points early this evening.
