April 13 – Welcome / Sikeston, MO
Welcome to your Moostash Joe Tour! Today we travel south to Sikeston, MO, where you’ll have the opportunity to get to know each other better during Drury’s great “Kickback” – where complimentary food and drinks are available. (D)
April 14 – Clarksdale, MS / Delta Blues
Continue south today to the Mississippi Delta and Clarksdale – home of many Blues greats. Here we visit the Delta Blues Museum, the world’s first museum dedicated to Blues music. Lunch will also be in Clarksdale at a local favorite spot. This evening finds us in Vicksburg, MS where we spend the night and enjoy dinner together. (B, L, D)
April 15 – Vicksburg National Military Park / Natchez, MS
A full day of exciting activities await! This morning is spent at Vicksburg National Military Park. Our knowledgeable step-on guide will take us around the park filled with historic sites, excellently preserved memorials and exhibits marking the Civil War’s Vicksburg campaign – vital to the wars victory. Then we head south to picturesque Natchez, MS located along the banks of the Mississippi. We again meet a local, step-on guide who will take us around the city including stops at a couple of Natchez’s magnificent antebellum plantation homes. A special evening is planned at historic Glenfield Plantation where we enjoy a tour as well as an evening meal on the grounds. (B, D)
April 16 – Laurel, MS
Today’s journey takes us to Laurel, one of the south’s hidden gems, and home to Ben and Erin Napier of the hit HGTV show, Home Town. Explore the city with a local guide which includes ride-by’s of featured homes from Home Town, stops at the renowned Laurel Mercantile, Historic District and more. We’ll also have plenty of time to shop, dine and explore its charming downtown before moving on to Meridian, MS. (B)
April 17 – Starkville, MS / Tupelo, MS
This morning we head to Starkville, home to Mississippi State University and the Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library, where we’ll spend some time learning about the United States’ 18th president and meandering through its many artifacts and memorabilia. Later we visit the Elvis Presley Birthplace & Museum, where the greatest entertainer was born in a two-room shotgun shack, built by his father, grandfather and uncle. Tonight is back in Sikeston, MO and our farewell dinner at Lambert’s Cafe – the “Home of Throwed Rolls.” (B, L, D)
April 18 – Return Home
Spend one last day reminiscing with your newly made friends before saying goodbye to your fellow travelers at your initial pick-up points with special Mississippi memories. (B)
