December 8 – Lidia’s Italy / Vaile Mansion / Country Club Plaza
Kansas City is the perfect quick Christmas getaway! Meet us at one of our many convenient pick-up points and make the short drive to Kansas City! Upon arrival, we kick-off our Kansas City Christmas Tour with a fabulous lunch at Lidia’s for authentic Italian cuisine inspired by world-renowned chef, Emmy award-winning public television host and best-selling cookbook author, Lidia Bastianich. After lunch we’ll head over to Independence to tour the beautifully-decorated Vaile Mansion – just in time to see this Victorian-style mansion lit up for the season! The rest of your afternoon is spent at Country Club Plaza, the Midwest premier shopping destination to find your favorite brand and the perfect Christmas gift. We then check-in to the Drury Inn & Suites with time to relax and get to know your fellow travelers over Drury’s great “Kickback” – where complimentary food and drinks are available. Tonight we head back out, this time with our local, step-on tour guide to see Kansas City’s great Christmas lights at night, including the elegantly lit, Spanish-inspired Country Club Plaza. (L, D)
December 9 – Strawberry Hill Museum / Return Home
This morning we continue our festive tour of the city at The Roasterie Coffee Company to enjoy a private tour and samples of their most popular coffees! Then it’s off to the beautifully-decorated Strawberry Hill Museum, which celebrates the many nationalities of Kansas City residents. We’ll also enjoy an ethnic-inspired lunch here before making our way back home with great memories and new friends of your delightful Kansas City Christmas Tour! (B, L)
