March 17 – Driving Crane Tour / Grand Island

Welcome to your Moostash Joe Tour! Meet us at one of our many convenient pick-up points and head west towards Grand Island. After a delicious lunch at the trendy Chocolate Bar downtown, we’ll meet our expert guide who will come on our bus for our Driving Crane Tour and a daytime opportunity to see the cranes and their behaviors in the cornfields and wet meadow areas. Then, head over to the recently renovated Stuhr Museum, one of Grand Island’s must-see attractions. Here you’ll have the chance to browse the museum including it’s one-of-a-kind Wing’s Over the Platte Exhibit, highlighting photos and paintings of the nearby Sandhill Cranes. We’ll then check in to the Best Western Plus Inn & Suites before all coming together again for an evening meal at a local favorite spot! (L, D)

March 18 – Sunrise Crane Viewing / Chances R Restaurant

Our day begins bright and early as we head to a viewing blind strategically placed along the Platte River to provide excellent views of the Sandhill Cranes while they are on their river roost. Lasting approximately 2 hours, led by a trained guide, our viewing blinds offer shelter from wind, rain and even snow! Later this morning we’ll also stop and visit the Crane Trust Nature and Visitor Center to learn about the efforts of saving the spectacular and endangered Whooping Crane. We then head back to our hotel to gather our things and check-out. Before we return to our initial pick-up points, we first stop for a delicious lunch in York at Chances “R” Restaurant, a local favorite. Early this afternoon, say goodbye to your tour director and driver as you arrive back with special memories, new friends and many photos from your Great Sandhill Crane Migration Tour! (B, L)
