Welcome to your Great Cities of Canada Tour – where you’ll be amazed at their striking architecture and extaordinary history! Join us at one of our many convenient pick-up points and head east. Our travel day takes us to Elkhart, IN, where you’ll have the evening to spend at your leisure.
August 11 – United States/Canada Border Crossing / Niagara Falls
Today we continue east, crossing the Blue Water Bridge into Canada in the early afternoon. Later, we arrive and check-in to our accommodations just steps from Niagara Falls. A special evening meal is planned overlooking the thundering Horseshoe Falls at Table Rock House Restaurant! (B, D)
August 12 – Niagara Falls / Toronto
Today our local Niagara Falls guide takes us around on our comprehensive tour. We’ll enjoy scenic Niagara River Parkway with views of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, Whirlpool, Power Dams, Floral Clock and more. We’ll also feel the power of the falls on our Hornblower Niagara Cruise! This afternoon we make our way to Toronto, the largest city in the country and the capital of Ontario, where we’ll have free time to explore and dine at your leisure near our centralized accommodations. August 13 – Toronto
Today enjoy a full-day tour of Toronto! Our tour includes a visit to spectacular Casa Loma, free time at the famed St. Lawrence Market, and a stop at Allan Gardens – a must for any visitor. We’ll also see the Parliament Buildings, Financial District, Chinatown and more. Our evening meal is at Hothouse Restaurant featuring authentic Mediterranean cuisine. (B, D)
August 14 – Travel Day / Montreal
Continue east today to Montreal, the second-most populous city in Canada and the largest French-speaking city in the world outside of Paris. Arrive in the afternoon at our centralized accommodations and freshen up before our evening meal at a local favorite spot. Later this evening we head to the Basilica Notre-Dame for their unforgettable Aura Light Show (B, D)
August 15 – Montreal
A full day in Montreal awaits! Accommpanied by our local step-on guide, we’ll see Ste-Catherine Street, St-Helen Island, Mont-Royal, The Old Port, Olympic Village and much more! Lunch is a classic Montreal smoked-meat sandwich at Essence. We’ll also make visits to Jean-Talon Market and St. Joseph’s Oratory. After time to explore and dine at your leisure, we’ll come together for a ride on the Grand Roue of Montreal – the largest observation wheel in Canada! (B, L)
August 16 – Quebec City
This morning we head out of Montreal for Quebec City, the capital city of Quebec. An early afternoon arrival leaves us plenty of time for a guided tour of this amazing city, featuring Old Quebec, Place Royale, The Joan of Arc Garden, Parliament and so much more! We know you’ll come to find Quebec City and its cityscape as some of the most striking French and European architecture you’ve ever seen! This evening features authentic French cuisine at L’Entrecote Saint-Jean. (B, D)
August 17 – Beaupre Coast / Old Quebec
This morning features a tour of the Beupre Coast, including a drive along Old King’s Road with stops at Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre Shrine, the Copper Museum and Montmorency Falls. We’ll also stop at Marie’s Breadoven, where you’ll see a 150-year-old bread oven and stone dwelling dating back to 1652, and enjoy a slice of fresh-baked bread with maple butter. The afternoon is back near our accommodations and free for you to explore Old Quebec at your leisure. A traditional sugar-shack dinner awaits at Erabliere du Lac Beauport. (B, D)
August 18 – Travel Day / Ottawa
Today we follow the St. Lawrence river en route to Ottawa – Canada’s welcoming capital city – where our accommodations are just steps from Parliament. This evening we’ll come together for an Italian-inspired meal at Restaurant Ottavio. (B, D)
August 19 – Ottawa
Today our local step-on guide takes us around the city, showing us the nation’s capital including Parliament Hill, Museum of History, Notre Dame Basilica, RCMP Training Ground, Ornamental Gardens and so much more. Our day also includes a guided visit to Rideau Hall, home of the Governor General of Canada and home away from home for visiting dignitaries. We’ll enjoy a bit of free time at ByWard Market before our special evening on the water for our Canal Cruise & Dinner at Canal Ritz, featuring the best views of Ottawa’s beautiful and historic Rideau Canal. August 20 – Travel Day
Today we start to make our way back, traveling back across Ontario and across the United States/Canadian border late this afternoon. Sit back, relax and take in the scenery. Our overnight accommodations are just outside of Detroit where we’ll also enjoy an evening meal together. (B, D)
August 21 – The Henry Ford Factory and Museum
This morning we head to the nearby Henry Ford Factory and Museum to discover an iconic American brand, its culture, inventions, people and can-do spirit. Continue to the Chicago metro, where we’ll be overnight and spend one last evening with your fellow travelers. (B, D)
August 22 – Return Home
Return home late this afternoon and evening with many fond memories of your tour to the Great Cities of Canada! (B)
