Welcome to your Moostash Joe Tour! July 24 – 1880 Train / Mount Rushmore
A full first day of Black Hills’ best await! First, board the renowned 1880 Train for our ride through the heart of the beautiful Black Hills to Hill City! Follow the route of gold prospectors and wind through forests, meadows and wooded canyons aboard this historic steam train. Upon arrival, enjoy some free time to explore at your leisure before our return trip back. Back in Keystone, we’ll make a stop at the National Presidential Wax Museum featuring life-sized wax replicas of U.S. presidents. Then, head to nearby Mount Rushmore National Memorial for free time to explore and at dusk, enjoy the Mount Rushmore Evening Lighting Ceremony! (B, D)
July 25 – Bear Country USA / Ft. Hays Chuckwagon Supper & Show
Spend a leisurely morning in Keystone before heading out to Bear Country USA! This unique drive-through wildlife park is sure to leave a lasting memory. We’ll travel through the park to observe black bears, elk, mountain lions, buffalo, reindeer and other wildlife in their natural environment. A picnic lunch near Canyon Lake precedes our visit to the serene Chapel in the Hills. Later, be amazed during our stop at the Reptile Gardens – home to more species and subspecies of reptiles than any other zoo or wild animal park in the world! This evening finds us at the Fort Hays Old West Town Square for the Ft. Hays Chuckwagon Supper & Musical Variety Show. Enjoy a hearty chuckwagon meal and the most entertaining show in the Black Hills! (B, L, D)
July 26 – Deadwood, SD
This morning we head north to the gambling town of Deadwood, SD where we enjoy lunch together and free time for you to try your luck. Here, we also meet our local guide for our Original Deadwood and Mt. Moriah “Boot Hill” Cemetery Tour to hear about an era gone by. Back in Keystone, you’ll have the evening to spend at your leisure and enjoy a night on the “Boardwalk” – filled with numerous shops, restaurants and bars. (B, L)
July 27 – Custer State Park Jeep Tour / Crazy Horse Memorial
Our final day in the Black Hills is one you won’t forget! We head to Custer State Park this morning for our Buffalo Safari Jeep Tour where a professional driver/guide takes you off road (only where they are permitted) to provide historical and educational information about Custer State Park and its wildlife. After the tour, lunch will be waiting for us at the prominent State Game Lodge. This afternoon, continue to Wind Cave National Park for a look into this unique area and its beautiful cave formations. Later we’ll spend our evening at Crazy Horse Memorial to view and learn about this massive mountain carving and enjoy an evening meal together before making our way back to Keystone for our last night. July 28 – Wall Drug / Return Home
We’ll head out of the Black Hills and make a stop to enjoy breakfast together at Wall Drug – the world’s largest Drug Store. Continue to make our way back home, enjoying the company of our fellow travelers for one last day. This evening, arrive back at your initial pick-up points with special memories of your Black Hills and Badlands Tour! (B)
