Day 1 – Welcome / Elkhart, IN

Meet your Moostash Joe Tour Director and Driver at one of our many convenient pick-up points and head east! Our travel day takes us to Elkhart, IN, where you’ll have the evening to spend at your leisure. 

Day 2 – State College, PA

Continue east today and through Pennyslvania’s beautiful rolling hills to State College – home of Penn State University. Here we relax and enjoy an evening meal together at a local favorite spot after our travel day. (B, D)

Day 3 – Boston, MA

Today’s travels take us further east. We’ll do a bit of sightseeing en route, and later this afternoon we arrive in the Boston area, where we check-in for our two-night stay and enjoy an evening meal together at a local restaurant. (B, D)

Day 4 – Boston Whale Watch / Historic Boston in Bloom

We’ll meet our local guide this morning and set out on a memorable day in Boston! Begin with an unforgettable whale-watching adventure into Stellwagen Bank Marine Sanctuary, a rich feeding ground and natural habitat for humpback, finback and minke whales, as well as dolphins, seabirds and other marine life. An onboard naturalist will share fascinating insights throughout the journey. Lunch on your own and free time will be at Quincy Market, a must stop for any visitor, where cobblestone walkways, lively performances, local artisans and a wonderful variety of food vendors create one of Boston’s most beloved gathering places. This afternoon we enjoy a Spring in Bloom Historic Boston Tour, with sights along the Freedom Trail, Boston Common, Beacon Hill and the gold-deomed State House. Later, relive one of the most important nights in American history at the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, where interactive exhibits, full-scale replica ships, colonial characters and a spirited reenactment bring the story to life. Dinner is included at a local favorite spot to end our full day in Boston. (B, D)

Day 5 – Portland, Maine / Harbor Cruise

Today we travel north to Portland, Maine – the largest city by the sea in the Pine Tree State. We’ll meet our local guide and enjoy a bit of free time in the historic Old Port Exchange, where cobblestone streets, Victorian brick buildings, art galleries, microbrewerines, specialty shops and views of Casco Bay create a lively coastal atmosphere. Your narrated Portland tour includes views of Longfellow’s boyhood home, sea captain houses and elegant Victorian mansions. We’ll stop at Portland Head Lighthouse – one of Maine’s most iconic and photographed landmarks. This afternoon, we board a narrated Portland Harbor Cruise, passing through the Calendar Islands of Casco Bay, taking in lighthouses, harbor scenery, maritime history and perhaps even a harbor seal! This evening we enjoy dinner at DiMillo’s on the Water, a unique waterfront dining landpark in Portland’s Old Port. (B, D)

Day 6 – Mount Washington Cog Railway / White Mountains

Depart Maine this morning for our journey to New Hampshire and it’s mountain scenery and classic New England adventure! We’ll meet our local guide before our ride on the famed Mount Washington Cog Railway, the world’s first mountain-climbing cog railway. Enjoy a scenic round-trip ride to the summit of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast. Continue through the White Mountains, where dramatic glacial notches, sweeping vistas and rugged natural beauty create memorable photo opportunities. (B, L, D)

Day 7 – White Mountains Touring / Evening Moose Tour

Another full day in the White Mountains await! Meet our local guide and begin at The Rocks Estate, where historic buildings, stone walls, forests and Christmas tree fields eveoke the pastoral beauty of turn-of-the-century New Hampshire. Learn about forest conservation, responsible land stewardship and the traditions of this beloved property before taking a horse-drawn wagon ride through the Christmas tree fields. This afternoon, continue through the White Mountains and visit areas known for brilliant fields of lupines, where purple, pink, blue and white blossoms create a breathtaking seasonal display. Later, we visit Fadden’s General Store, an authentic family-owned general storedating back to 1896 and known for its maple sugar house and award-winning New Hampshire maple syrup. After dinner at the Woodstock Inn & Brewery, we board the Moose Tour Bus for our special three-hour narrated evening wildlife adventure in search of these gentle giants in their natural habitat! (B, L, D)

Day 8 – Travel Day / Buffalo, NY

Today we begin our return trip home, traveling through central New York to Buffalo, our home for the evening, and enjoy an evening meal together. (B, D)

Day 9 – Erie, PA / Chicago Metro

Continue east today along Lake Erie, stopping in Erie, PA for a bit of sightseeing and to visit the popular Tom Ridge Environmental Center. This evening finds us on the east side of Chicago and our last night together. (B, D)

Day 10 – Return Home

Spend one last day reminiscing with your fellow travelers and newly made friends, carrying wonderful memories of blooming gardens, historic Boston, Maine’s coastal beauty, mountain rail adventure, brilliant lupine fields, and the thrill of a White Mountains Moose Tour! Say goodbye as we arrive back at our initial pick-up points early this evening. (B)
