Day 1 – Depart / Arrive in Fairbanks, AK
Meet us this morning at one of our many convenient pick-up points as we make our way to connect to our flight to Fairbanks, Alaska! Upon arrival, you’ll be met by your Local Tour Guide and Driver and transferred to your hotel in downtown Fairbanks with the remainder of the evening to spend at your leisure.
Day 2 – Fairbanks
Welcome to the “Golden Heart City!” Today, enjoy a guided city tour of Fairbanks featuring the Trans-Alaska Pipeline as well as a visit to the North Pole, where everyday is Christmas. Later, cruise the Chena River aboard a stern-wheeler riverboat and experience the thrill of river travel. (B)
Day 3 – Denali National Park / Tundra Wilderness Tour
This morning we head south for our scenic drive toward Denali National Park. Upon arrival, travel deep into Denali National park on the Tundra Wilderness Tour and search the vast wilderness for bears, moose, caribou and dall sheep. This six to eight-hour journey, including a snack on-board, is narrated allowing for unique insight into animals as well as the flora and fauna of this spectacular region. (B)
Day 4 – Alaska Railroad / Wilderness Jetboat Excursion
Today we enjoy a scenic ride aboard the Alaska Railroad! The highlight for many of you, enjoy panoramic views in your deluxe dome rail car. In Talkeetna, enjoy a Wilderness Jetboat Excursion, taking you into the heart of the wilderness in comfort. Travel twenty miles upriver with your naturalist guide as they share information about the surrounding area. Enjoy free time this evening in Anchorage. (B)
Day 5 – Anchorage / Embark the Norwegian Jade
This morning enjoy a guided city tour of Anchorage featuring Lake Hood, where 190+ float-planes takeoff and land daily, Earthquake Park to learn about the 1964 Earthquake, and the historic downtown area. On our way to Whittier, we visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center where we’ll have a chance to see Alaska’s wildlife up-close-and-personal. Early this afternoon, say goodbye to your Local Tour Guide and Driver as you arrive at the Whittier Cruise Terminal and embark the Norwegian Jade. Once on-board, spend the rest of your evening exploring your home for the next seven nights! Cruise departs port at 4:00 p.m. (B, D)
Day 6 – Cruise Hubbard Glacier
Get an up-close view of the gigantic Hubbard Glacier, North America’s largest tidewater glacier. It’s 1,350 square miles of blue ice and one of the most active in Alaska. Spend today also enjoying the many amenities aboard the Norwegian Jade. (B, L, D)
Day 7 – Icy Strait Point
Venture “where the north wind doesn’t blow.” Known for this famous saying, Icy Strait Point is the ideal spot for adventurers seeking a new experience. Breathtaking and exciting, Icy Strait Point truly takes you where the wild things are. It’s one of the few places in the world where wildlife outnumbers the human population. (B, L, D)
Day 8 – Juneau, AK
Juneau has been called “Alaska’s peak experience,” certainly due in part to its unparalleled glacier viewing from such places as Tracy Arm Fjord, the Juneau Icefields and Glacier Bay National Park. Choose from one of the optional shore excursions, such as kayaking up one of the area’s many protected waterways, flightseeing, touring historic downtown or try your hand at panning for gold. Also, the majestic Mendenhall Glacier lies only 12 miles outside Juneau, a trek worthwhile. (B, L, D)
Day 9 – Skagway, AK
In a single year from 1896 to 1897, this remote town along the Inside Passage grew from a few tents to a city of 20,000 gold seekers. Today, travelers come in search of other riches – to experience yesteryear along Skagway’s charming boardwalk lined with buildings that replicate those Gold Rush days. (B, L, D)
Day 10 – Ketchikan, AK
It’s Tlingit Indian name, Kach Khanna, means “spread wings of the eagle.” Chances are you’ll see one of these magnificent birds perched atop a Sitka tree. Thanks to its abundant rainfall, Ketchikan is surrounded by some of the world’s most lush wilderness. (B, L, D)
Day 11 – Cruising the Inside Passage
Today, enjoy amazing views and wildlife like nowhere else as you sail through the islands of Alaska’s Inside Passage! Join in on some of the ships many activities, take part in the great entertainment on board or just relax and take in the breathtaking scenery during your last day on-board. (B, L, D)
Day 12 – Vancouver, BC / Return Home
Enjoy one last breakfast on-board before disembarking and transferring to Vancouver International Airport and your return flight home. Upon arrival, say goodbye to your Moostash Joe Tour Director and newly made friends with many fond memories of your Alaskan adventure by land and sea as you arrive back at your initial pick-up points.
