Day 1 – Travel Day / Lambert’s Cafe
Meet your Moostash Joe Tour Director and Driver at one of our convenient pick-up points this morning and head south! Our travels take us south of St. Louis to Sikeston, MO, where we’ll all enjoy a welcome meal with plenty to eat at Lambert’s Cafe – “Home of Throwed Rolls!” (D)
Day 2 – New Orleans Dinner Cruise
Continue south today, where temperatures get warmer and grass even greener! Late this afternoon, view Lake Pontchartrain before arriving in the center of New Orleans. Upon arrival, check-in and enjoy Drury’s great “Kickback” – where food and drinks are available, before we head back out to the nearby French Quarter. Savor the beauty and romance of the New Orleans skyline and the French Quarter aboard the authentic City of New Orleans! This two-hour dinner cruise takes you up and down the graceful current of the Mississippi including a delicious dinner on board. Later tonight, you have the opportunity to head to nearby Bourbon Street for a night out and one-of-a-kind experience, just four blocks from our downtown accommodations. (B, D)
Day 3 – New Orleans Tour / French Quarter
The highlight for many of you, this morning we meet our local New Orleans step-on guide to take us around the “Big Easy.” We’ll be introduced to New Orleans’ many renowned sights and discuss the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and the efforts to make sure it never happens again. Our stops include one of New Orleans oldest cemeteries for a look into these fascinating, above-ground “cities of the dead” and the opportunity to purchase some of New Orleans’ renowned beignets. After our morning tour, we stop at the historic French Market, located in the French Quarter to enjoy free time for lunch and browsing. Then, say goodbye to New Orleans this afternoon and say hello to the Gulf! This afternoon we check-in to our two-night waterfront accommodations at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Biloxi and enjoy an evening meal. (B, D)
Day 4 – Biloxi Shrimping Tour
An exciting day in Biloxi awaits! We’ll start on the water as we climb aboard a real shrimping boat for your peek inside how the journey begins for a shrimp and how it ends up on your plate! This comfortable, entertaining and educational 70-minute living marine adventure cruise is fully narrated by the crew and features an up-close look at the abundant marine life in the Mississippi Sound. After our tour we’ll enjoy lunch together at a local favorite restaurant. This afternoon, our local step-on guide takes us around Biloxi and it’s storied past and exciting present. For dinner, we head off-the-beaten-path to The Shed Barbecue and Blues Joint. Featured on the Food Network and Travel Channel, among others, you’re sure to “Get Fed at The Shed!” (B, L, D)
Day 5 – Bellingrath Gardens / USS Alabama
After a leisurely morning, our first stop today is Bellingrath Gardens. Featuring beautiful blooms and beauty every day of the year, enjoy 65 acres of year-round floral pageantry in a Southern estate garden! Take a leisurely stroll, tour the 1930’s home and enjoy lunch on the grounds. Later in Mobile, see courage up close as you explore over seven decades of heroism at Battleship Memorial Park. Walk the decks of the battleship centerpiece, the USS Alabama, go below in a WWII submarine and view cockpits of combat aircraft. Dinner is at the nearby, local favorite Felix’s Fish Camp for fresh, locally caught fish and Mobile Bay views. (B, L, D)
Day 6 – Blue Angels Airshow / Dolphin Cruise
This morning we enjoy a guided tour of Pensacola’s National Naval Aviation Museum-the world’s largest Naval Aviation museum and one of the most visited museums in Florida along with the extraordinary Blue Angels Airshow! (Subject to weather and scheduled airshow dates). After the Airshow, head down to Pensacola Beach for a picnic lunch waterside and our own Dolphin Cruise! Enjoy a beautiful two-hour cruise to spy dolphins, birds and other marine life aboard an open-air, covered catamaran. Later this afternoon, arrive and check-in to our beach-side accommodations and enjoy plenty of free time on the amazing white sands of Pensacola Beach, Florida. (B, L)
Day 7 – Birmingham, AL
Start to make your way back north today en route to Birmingham, Alabama. In Birmingham we first dine on Greek-inspired favorites at The Fish Market. Then, we’ll make our way over to the renowned Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum for a look at it’s massive collection of race cars and motorcycles. An afternoon visit to the must-see iconic Vulcan Park and Museum proceeds our arrival to our hotel accommodations, where you can relax and enjoy Drury’s great “Kickback” – where food and drinks are available. Day 8 – Nashville, TN / St. Louis, MO
After a morning drive, spend some free time for lunch and exploring on your own on Broadway in downtown Nashville, where live music isn’t hard to find! Continue north and arrive in St. Louis this evening where you have the rest of the day to enjoy at your leisure. (B)
Day 9 – Return Home
Spend one last day reminiscing with your newly made friends about your Gulf Coast Adventure! Say goodbye to your Moostash Joe Tour Director and Driver as you arrive back at your initial pick-up point this afternoon and evening. (B)
