Brief Itinerary of the Alaska Tour 2011
Saturday June 16: Lunch at Al's Oasis, Chamberlain,
SD. Afternoon break at the famous Wall Drug in Wall, SD. Evening meal
in Rapid City, SD and overnight at the Quality Inn in Rapid City.
Sunday June 17: Breakfast (Included) Early Lunch in
Sheridan, WY. Stop at Custer Battlefield, see Little Big Horn
Mountains, Bridger Mountains, as we travel through Billings and on to Great
Falls, MT. Evening Meal (Included) in Great Falls, overnight at
Fairfield Inn, Great Falls.
Monday, June 18: Breakfast (Included) Leaving Great
Falls this morning for the Canadian border. We see the Canadian
Rockies and Canada's Canola fields. On to Edmonton, Alberta.
Stopping at the worlds largest Mall, for the evening meal (included) and
free time for shopping. Overnight at Royal West Inn, Edmonton.
Tuesday June 19: Travel Day to St. John, British
Columbia. See the second largest wooden railway trestle in the
world. Stop at Dawson Creek museum, where you begin tour trek on the
scenic Alaska Highway starting at mile post 0. before this tour is
over, you will have driven every mile of the scenic Alaska Highway.
Travel across the permanent 2,130 foot suspension peace bridge completed in
1943. Overnight at Quality Inn, Fort St. John, BC. Evening Meal
(included) at the hotel.
Wednesday June 20: Scenic morning drive to Fort
Nelson, BC. See the Fort Nelson Heritage Museum (on your own).
Free afternoon in Fort Nelson. Evening Meal (Included) in Fort
Nelson. Overnight at the Woodlands Inn, Fort Nelson. Laundry
facilities available.
Thursday, June 21: A very beautiful drive today to
Watson Lake (Gateway to the Yukon). Drive past Indian Head Mountain,
Stone Mountain and late day, drive into Yukon Territory. Stop at
Watson Lake visitors center and walk through the sign post museum. If
you want to bring along a sign from your area to hand in the sign post
museum, please do!
Friday June 22: Breakfast (Included) Drive to
Whitehorse - Capitol of the Yukon & headquarters of the Royal Mounted
Canadian Police. Tour the SS Klondike national historic site -
permanently docked stern wheeler museum. Noon meal at Muklik Annies's
(Included) Evening show, "Frantic Follies" (Included).
Journey back to the great Klondike gold rush days! Overnight at the
Klondike Inn, Whitehorse, Yukon.
Saturday June 23: Leave Whitehorse and travel
through Kluane National Park, St. Elias Mountains. Early afternoon we
will enter the great state of Alaska. Change time zones and watch for
wild game. Evening meal (Included) at Tok, Alaska. Overnight at Tok
West mark Hotel.
Sunday June 24: Short morning drive to Fairbanks,
AK. Mid-Morning break at Delta Jct. - The official end of the Alaska
Highway. Picture stop at final mile post of the highway. Stop at
Rika Roadhouse and the North Pole before entering Fairbanks. Overnight
at the Bridgewater Hotel, Downtown Fairbanks. Delicious Salmon bake
and Golden Heart Revue (Included).
Monday June 25: Breakfast (Included). Guided
city tour of Fairbanks followed by a stern wheeler river boat cruise on the
Chena River. We'll see Alaska sled dogs, native Alaskan village,
salmon fishing & curing. Evening meal (Included) and overnight
again at the Bridgewater Hotel, Fairbanks.
Tuesday June 26: Breakfast (Included).
Driving to Anchorage today on Hwy 3. We'll visit the Denali Park
visitors center for lunch and information on the great park. Then
driving south along Denali National Park preserve to the right, seeing some
of the most breathtaking scenery in America. Evening meal (Included)
in Anchorage at the famous Sourdough Mining Company restaurant.

Wednesday June 27: Breakfast (Included).
Guided city tour of Anchorage - Largest city in Alaska. See the
Earthquake Park and Captain Cook Memorial. Free leisure time in

Thursday June 28: Breakfast (Included) Beautiful
drive to Whitter, AK and board the ferry for a scenic cruise to Valdez, AK,
The end of the Alaskan Pipeline. Evening meal (Included) of

Friday June 29: Breakfast (Included) Full day drive
to Beaver Creek, Yukon Territory. Lunch at Tok, Alaska. Evening

Saturday June 30: Driving to Skagway, Alaska,
Enroute, view beautiful scenery, including waterfalls and a glacier.
Enjoy a great meal (Included) at Skagway Fish Company restaurant.
Enjoy sightseeing and shopping in historic Skagway before boarding the
Mantanuska Ferry to cruise the exciting and picturesque Inside
Passage. Overnight at West mark Hotel, Skagway, AK.
Sunday July 1: Early boarding of the Matanuska
Ferry for a 2 day cruise through the Inside Passage bound for Prince Ruppert,
British Columbia. Stops at Juneau, Petersburg, and Ketchikan.
We'll travel through a maze of bays, straits, arms and Fjords, cruising
past the unspoiled beauty of this amazing rain forest. A panorama
interrupted only by the sight of Whales and Sea Lions frolicking in the
waters around us. One meal (Included) aboard the ferry.
Monday July 2: Enjoy second day aboard the
Matanuska Ferry. Comfortable and private cabins provided with private
baths.
Tuesday July 3: Arrive Prince Rupert, British
Columbia mid-afternoon. Enjoy a guided city tour of scenic Prince
Rupert. Overnight at Highliner Plaza Hotel.
